Fairview Dairy Bar - Sanford, NC: The Fairview Dairy Bar in Sanford, North Carolina is a pleasant little detour worthy of any weekend jaunt, or if you're just in town for the day on a business stop. A short drive from Raleigh, Durham, or Chapel Hill (and most small towns in between) lands you in Sanford, home to many local pottery artists, downtown shopping, and the Temple Theatre, to name just a few highlights.
Located close to downtown Sanford, the Fairview Dairy Bar offers you delicious home-cooked eats for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They're also known for their fabulous ice cream and homemade desserts. Don't pass up the opportunity to sample a banana split, brownie bottom pie, milkshake, or Oreo cheesecake!
There's a true hometown feel at Fairview. Many local residents have sat at these tables and barstools since it first opened its doors in 1954. It is sometimes hard to tell who's sitting at which table, as many neighbors and friends dine and socialize here on a daily basis (sometimes for all three meals a day), roaming freely about the restaurant chatting and swapping smiles as if they were in their own home.
Paul and Kathy Freedle, the owners of this fine establishment, are usually there as well, personally stopping by each and every seat to give a hello or to thank you for coming. Paul especially likes to pick at some of his very close guests, causing those close to the exchange to tear up with laughter.
The Fairview Dairy Bar is a comfortable place serving comfort food. The customers are a very diverse group of Americana, all converging in one place to meet, greet, and eat. It is one of the few places where one witnesses not just families, but a table of strangers, sitting down together before a meal and saying grace.
Good food, affordable prices.
